Be Considered Homeless

The Mission of Hope began operation in 1988 with the help of Mary Ruth Anderson in the Church of God building. In 1989, Harry and Billy Wyatt purchased the building from Church of God and allowed it to be rented by the Mission of Hope shelter for the homeless, saving the Mission of Hope over $200 in rent each month. In 1992, Harry and Billy donated the land and the building to Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency. At that time, it had become non-denominational, which allowed for other churches to begin to give financial support. In 1996, HUD funding was secured and the current facility was constructed on the same site. On September 1, 2015, the Stillwater Housing Development Corporation signed a lease with the option to purchase Mission of Hope from Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency. November 2020, the Mission of Hope received non-profit status as Stillwater MOH, INC.

The Mission of Hope currently has three types of programs; emergency shelter, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing. The emergency shelter has a mens dorm that houses up to ten men and the women's dorm that houses up to six women. There are ten transitional units on-site and three transitional apartments off-site. The permanent supportive housing consists of two houses and six apartments for chronically homeless disabled individuals and families.
